Density

750˜780kg/m³ = approx. 3.6lbs/sq.ft. @ 1" thick
(OAK is between 590-930kg/m³)

Hardness

SunDeck Bamboo is 38% harder than Oak and 13% harder than Maple.

Colour

Natural golden, brown tone.

Surface

SunDeck Bamboo has beautiful, clear grain throughout. There is also a reeded profile available.

Odour

Natural bamboo smell, No unpleasant or toxic odours.

Production

SunDeck Bamboo decking, dimensional lumber and posts have been developed manufactured at our factory using patented lamination technology under high pressure.

Size

Virtually any size is possible during the lamination process.

Moisture

Reduced by up to 10-12%.

Stability

Swelling/Shrinkage: Superior to standard hardwood decking.
Bending/Splitting/Rot: Reduce significantly.
Warping/Twisting: High resistant.
Susceptibility to moisture: Low.

Permitted Value: ≥50 KJ/m²
Test Results: 121 KJ/m²

Bending Strength

Permitted Value: ≥70 MPa
Test Results: 134 MPa

Elasticity

Permitted Value: ≥6.5×10³ MPa
Test Results: 7.3×10³MPa

Durability

With reqular maintenance, SunDeck Bamboo will last as long if not longer than other hardwoods.

Mildew/Mold

Same as other hardwood decking.

Surface/End Crack

Superior to other hardwood decking.

Fading

As with other hardwoods, SunDeck Bamboo will grey over time unless properly stained or oiled.

Maintenance

Staining or oiling, much like other hardwoods.

Handling

Generally lighter and easier to handle. SunDeck Bamboo can be fit using standard hardwood tools and procedures.

Performance

Superior to other hardwood decking.

Environment

SunDeck Bamboo is an Eco-Friendly product. Bamboo is a fast growing, renewable and sustainable species with a rotation cycle of between 3 and 5 years for cutting.

Waterproofing

Samples are boiled in 100°C for 4 hours, then frozen at -30°C, with no de-lamination occurring.

Adhesive

SunDeck Formaldehyde emission: mg/L 0.1, (European standards for formaldehyde E1≤1.5)
